We are very proud to announce that MechWarrior: Living Legends has been selected by Crytek as the fourth and final mod team to receive the pre-release version of the Crysis SDK and further support during its development. Find below the official press release as seen on CryMod.com MechWarrior: Living Legends. Will you be a living legend or a forgotten casualty?
By the 31st century, humanity has spread to thousands of worlds, while a handful of powerful empires wage continual war for the right to rule the stars. Foremost among the weapons used in that struggle are BattleMechs. Loaded with auto cannons, missile launchers, lasers, and charged-particle beam weapons, these fusion-powered war machines of articulated armor stand upward of fourteen meters tall. Piloting them are MechWarrior’s, the best, most intensively trained men and women available. Like the armored knights of an earlier age, MechWarrior’s are popular heroes, and their exploits are the stuff of legends. MechWarrior: Living Legends (MWLL) is a total conversion modification for Crysis. MWLL is at its very core a mix between a First Person Shooter (FPS) and a Simulation (SIM). This will be achieved through the use of a, mixed arms massively multiplayer, gaming experience where the player takes part in a battle using a variety of vehicles and weapons. MWLL is following the concept set forth by Crysis of a sandbox feel where you get to play what you want and how you want it. MWLL depicts the epic struggles between the two umbrella factions of Battletech, “The Clans” and “The Inner Sphere”. Maps typically have a mix of vehicles and infantry combat, using both of these to complete objectives as a team will be essential to winning rounds or campaigns in MWLL. In the project we will be bringing some of the legends of “MechWarrior” franchise back to life with new art and animations that do justice to these huge weapons of war and also do something that’s never been done before using the deep universe of Battletech. There are so many facets to Battletech and finally comes a title that is willing to explore them. General Features - Epic multiplayer missions that thrusts players into an ever-changing environment, forcing them to adapt their tactics and approach to conquer battlefields ranging from desert to tundra to Alpine.
- Take control of over 40 land, sea, and air vehicles. These vehicles include tanks, VTOLs, hovercraft, fast attack-vehicles, fighter jets, battle suits and finally hulking 100 ton BattleMechs.
- Will you be a living legend or a forgotten casualty? High Tech Vehicles allows gamers to augment their weapons and load outs in real time on the battlefield.

Finally! Crysis has gone gold and will be in stores on the promised day! The year’s biggest PC game has just gotten that much closer to hitting store shelves. Crysis, Crytek’s next-generation first person shooter for the PC has gone gold and will be on store shelves everywhere November 16, 2007.
“We are extremely proud of what we have been able to accomplish with Crysis,” said Cevat Yerli, CEO of Crytek. “We wanted to push the boundaries both visually and with open-ended, non-linear gameplay and we believe the end result delivers that vision.”
The current single player demo, available in DX10 and DX9, has given gamers their first taste of the immersive, non-linear Crysis experience. Highlighted by Crytek’s open-ended level design and the game’s Nanosuit gameplay mechanic, which challenges gamers to analyze and approach every individual encounter before acting, Crysis delivers a completely new and refreshing FPS gameplay experience.
Of course, the single player demo also features the stunning, award-winning graphics powered by Crytek’s revolutionary CryENGINE 2. Assistance from key partners such as NVIDIA, Intel and Microsoft have helped make Crysis one of the most anticipated PC games of all time.
“Crytek and EA are rewarding PC gamers with the world’s most technologically advanced video game,” said Roy Taylor, vice president of content at NVIDIA. “Our programmers are intensely proud to have helped Crytek push the boundaries of interactivity and immersion. The game was developed and tested on NVIDIA, and we recommend GeForce 8800-Series graphics cards for the best experience.” |
