Hey sorry
I did not check back here after I posted . I am one of the only people left out of our old MW4 clan and I haven’t played in a long time. I do have Crysis and hope to play again once you guys release your mod I still own a few Wolfinexile domains and have a temporary website up this link should work if you are curious www.wolfinexile.com/ or http://www.wolfinexile.com/WolfnExile.htm? Since there is no one left but me and Ivan and a few others that are inactive in our little community I am not sure if I will try and keep it going. Because of lack of interest I haven’t spent much time on it but there is a php forum and a few other little things I have had up. If people become interested again I am willing to grant access to some areas for management maybe even give up my domain registrations ect. I am very busy with other projects so if you really want to contact me you can reach me thru that websight admin email or on the message boards. I will try and stop by more often thanks for your comments. And yes the hauptman was a spoil of war |

Personally, I want to know how they would cover a whole bunch of police cruisers in high pursuit of a hijacked Dunkin Doughnuts truck.

That's entirely possible, but I always got the feeling that that combat was a little closer to the time the main game takes place, which would put the fighting back into clan space. Also, just because the Star League forces are on the offensive overall doesn't mean that the Jaguars can't be making a localized counter attack at a weak spot in the line. This is especially true on a clan world where there is no retreat so they have to push the Star League forces off the planet or die trying. Also, the number of Fireflies shown makes me think that the Wolf's Dragoons are probably involved in this particular operation and may be the defending unit here, although I don't remember any unit markings. I'm not sure if this helps narrow it down any, but I figure that unit information can't hurt. Yeah, it seems unit markings got placed on the back burner for the intro. Though I'm not too familiar with the Wolf's Dragoons, just that they were the advace scouts for the Clans. My only problem with the in clan space theory is that there is really no record of urban warfare in Shadows of War or Sword and Fire, the books that covered the fighting on Huntress. They avoided them to spare civilian collatoral damage, not to mention they fought on the run in the mountains/swamps for the second half of the campaign. That leaves Strana Mechty, but the only Jaguar forces encountered were in a hazardous caynon. As for Tranquil, only a single lance with minimal support was placed on planet, and since they're five mechs in the intro, that's automatic disqualification. I agree with your observation that it could've been a minor counterattack the Smoke Jaguars were able to pull off. I just feel that, given how Grave Covenant described the overall campaign, it felt logical that it would've been on one of those five worlds. btw, it would be cool if this scenario would be playable in LL ^.^ I was a bit disappointed when seeing such empty battlefields in the game, after watching this amazing intro. Heh. No promises, but let me think about it and see what I can come up with. |

Yeah, a skill based system does add a little bit more "work" to it. Mainly in character creation, and during the time people are allowed to use the experience they got (after a gamenight, or a campaign, depending on the gm's preferences). It does add a little during the game to, but I think it's a fairly small amount. But if anyone spends more time then like 2 or 3 minutes the entire night adding xp, then I would be surprised, and I would start checking their dice. XD
Glad we agree somewhat on health at least. Usually the times I did play D&D (it was only that french friend of mine who we played it with), I tried to rationalise the hp with something like "Well, I guess he still have the same amount of health really... he just gets better as knowing how to take and reduce the damage into smaller pieces". But that does of course not explain how lets say a scholar would get more health because he spent one whole level at the library reading... although... papercuts can be pretty brutal at times. ![]() And yeah, I know that the various armour rolls, and to hit rolls and all that takes into account that the enemy is moving around/dodging/weaving+armour+parry+magic+other. In D&D you, the player, does not really do anything at all when it comes to your characters defence. The gm tells you that the enemy swings his weapon at you, you might get to say what you want to do or use something to improve your chance, but all you can hope for is that the gm rolls low on the d20. And that is the problam. They are bunching it all together into one pile, where you lose the nuance of the whole thing. No... I prefere to take part in my characters defence. To actively get to do something to defend my self. To roll the dices for my characters to see if he manages to parry, block or dodge the attack. Actively getting to take part in both the offensive AND the defencive part of the fight. Sure it is slightly slower then the D&D system, but I don't see any problam in that. Imagine only eating rice, or pasta, not having anything to add to it to give it a flavour. Now imagine getting to add a sauce to that rice or pasta. That is how I see the difference between D&D's combat, and DoD's combat. Then there is the EON* combat... which could probably be describes with triple the portion of both the rice/pasta, sauce, ketchup, spices and anything else you could imagine putting in it. XD (*EON is another Swedish rpg, which is probably THE most advanced and complex pnp rpg on the market. It is also probably the most realistic game out there when it comes to how combat works. And Death is quite literally lurking around every single attack (or fumble) in that game. The downside is that the combat can be pretty slow be for you get used to it. And even then it is still slower then anything else I have played. But it still works, and it can be very rewarding when you survive an unusually hard/bad fight. Unfortunately, this game has not been translated to English.) I am glad that your at least trying to make the game as realistic as possible. And I understand that that is not easy, it never is. Another simile if you will: D&D = MechAssault. DoD = MechWarrior Simulator Light. EON = MechWarrior Simulator Hardcore. ![]() |

My favorite mech is already ingame: Summoner/Thor.
However, i really like energy weapons. Energy weapons are, for me, the workhorse of a good mech. If i use ammo-based weapons, they have to be weapons i use rarely - short range, heavy punch. I really hope there will be a variant with lots of energy weapons. |

If it's gonna be three hours, I want Shia LaBeouf in it, haha. Him in one of them, piloting. ![]() Him getting run over by one of them would be more impressive. |

I'm going to go rob a bank tomorrow. I plan on dressing up in a clown wig and make up and only wearing a thong and nipple tassels. I'll carry a goat and a can of fluorescent paint in one arm and, while in the bank, I'm going to fuck the goat and throw the paint over the walls, all the time ripping up pages of a phonebook and swearing my head off. After getting the money, I'll take a shit on the floor and piss everywhere. I then will escape in a van shaped like a giant pink cock. Let's see Crimewatch fucking stage a reconstruction of that. LMAO! Not exactly what I came up with but you are on that line Always wondered what would happen if you do stuff like that .... ![]() |
