If you had to choose, between all the Mechs in Battletech, which would you choose, and why.

Personally, the Thor, is my favorite Mech of all time. From a visual standpoint, he's just intimidating looking (ala mech3 intro for example) he has solid humanoid chassis, and huge cannon on his shoulder. He's more like a Heavy Arms Grunt-type Mech. Not Excessive, Overburdened, Flimsy or Weak.

I feel, from a tonnage standpoint, he fits all around as a good mix of power, speed, and survivability making him almost untouchable when properly configured and piloted.

Can anyone else choose only one?
It's a hard decision.

I've always preferred nimble, maneuverable mechs. Kitfox/Uller has always been a favorite for the light range. Timberwolf for the heavy range.

I can't say 'without a doubt' any one mech ruled all of my choices though since I've not always had an available choice (league drops ONLY back in the day), it's kind of made me a jack of all trades.
 

I have always prefered mechs that are can serve in almost any role, general workhorse mechs.  As such I am going to have to go with the Enforcer.  Decent mix of weapons it could acually use.  This is from Table top of course, I don't think it ever made it into a sim.

First off Shadow Cat, there is no mech with a better balance of speed, agility, and firepower than the fabled Scat. 

Secondly I am RIDICULOUSLY excited for this mod to come out. That no new mechwarrior has come out since 2002 is ludicrous (Microsoft I hate you so much...) Anyways I just wanted to rant about how much I miss Mechwarrior series and am extremely appreciative of all the hard work the MWLL is putting into this project.

 

Command Hellbringer... Long range capability, fairly maneuverable, excellent electronics.  I am only recalling this from MW4, since that is all the Mech experience I have.

I know my mech OLD school but the Archer ARC-2R,  $6.3mil just a simple pair of LRM20
s with 2tons of ammo each and 4 Medium laser.

The reason being was play in a back in the day before the clan and Er laser and Double heat sinks on a 2x2 map grid with one of the 4 maps having a Lake on a hill. As I was in the middle of that lake just Firing off Missile salvo after salvo when with a flight time of 4 turns I get a Direct hit on my mech CT from a Full size long tom cannon (note that short range pos M$ call a long tom) The Following round I get hit agian in the CT of my mech. No Crit's on my mech I had no CT armor left but I was still standing and Firing those LRM's will a cloud of steam all around my mech for 30-45m. 

In CBT so you know
Longtom hit so hard that any mech with in about 15m of the shell landing take 20 points of damage and if between 16-45m from where the shell hit you take 10points of damage
