Very neat, not sure how this would pan out though. I'd imagine it would take a long time to break everyones love connection with the mouse and keyboard.

I'd have bought one 10 years ago if they were available.
I can't wait to ditch my mouse and keyboard.

It's a cool concept. One of my CS profs is actually doing research into a similar type of device that would be bi-directional. Cool concept, though a bit scary in possibilities.

Great! Output stinks... and odds are user CTS won't go away as long as there's porn on the net.  Grin

I actually e-mailed the manufacturers of one of the neurohelmets ages ago and this is what he told me back then:

Hi Defender,

We have a lot happening right now – so our email replies are a bit slow.

The sensor bands are sold through our distributor Infusion Systems. Here is the direct link to the headband page: http://infusionsystems.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/176.

Infusion provides some software for developing your own apps.

In terms of speed – the brainwave link is slow because the signals we get off the scalp are low frequency – in the 10 to 30 Hz range.

The other sensor bands that we offer, such as the Bioflex, are faster and would compete with standard mouse functions. However this is a new gesture based controller and requires a learning curve – like the mouse.

These controllers are great for interactive immersion – where you participate in a simulation environment. They are not so good for simply replacing existing mouse, joystick, and keyboard functions.

Hope this helps with your quest.

Best,

Hugh

This was back in november when I asked some questions. I wonder how good the one that's going to be released for $300 at the end of the year will be...
