Screw LOTR (i didnt get into beta) i had and idea to search for this and low and behold its already being worked on. http://www.swgemu.com/ and im thinking of joining this server community http://www.truegalaxies.com/forums/index1.php?page=loginto "True Galaxies is going to be pretty much what the game was like Pre-CU, patch 12.1. With very little, if any changes. We do plan on, however, to add more content. Because lets face it, people are going to be bored with the same content. Content is defined as: Quests, Missions, Dungeons, and Events." Rock On! SWG was my first mmorpg and hopefully it will be my last!

yup, I've been watching this progress for some time infact.  Truegalaxies is actually just a server for SWGEmu.  Though they say they are the largest.  Last time I checked they had just gotten combat and NPC's working in their test server.

Boo on True Galaxies!  You want to play on the officially swgemu.com endorsed server, SpraticNet eXiles.

Plus I'm the commando correspondent over on that server as well as the wiki dude.  And if you want to go Imperial, which is everyone that's not lame or a hippie, you can join my guild, the 47th Imperial Expeditionary Force [IA].  We've been around since the launch of SWG and are currently the oldest and largest guild on our server, Chilastra.  Member count is around 350, 150 currently active.  Good bulk will return when we get EMU released.

I just can't wait to step back into my TIE Bomber and do some strafing runs on A-Wings with my dual Mark IV Proton missiles Cheesy

Any word on the EMU?  Servers running the test software are starting to close down instead of running it, like true galaxies.
I hope they manage to finish a fully capable version soon

Yeah, I'm on the EMU dev team:-p

We're getting there.  We've been running public stress tests almost daily.  I'd like to make it clear that there are no EMU servers currently running.  We have a lot of stuff done.  Combat, crafting, most of JtL.

We'll probably have an alpha in about two months I'd reckon.

Cool, your further then I thought then.  Yea, I was aware that there were not any full servers online of course.  Some were running test servers with test builds or something

Yeah, the non swgemu.com servers are just running old versions of Core1, which was the original work done on the project.  We're up to Core 3 right now, which you can only find on our TCs.

Problem is that our lead member is really... touchy.  I'm not gonna lie, the guy is a complete douche, he starts a ton of drama, and has made dozens of people quit the team over the years.  The problem is that he's simply the best at sniffing the packets and doing the reverse engineering.  The guy btw is Ultyma.

Yeah, he's incredibly hard to work with but it would be slower to go on without him than to kick him out, not that we could even if the rest of us wanted to.  He owns the site and controls the donations so we're stuck, but we're doing the best we can.

Just two weekends ago we had a major stress test.  We had 582 people in the Dantooine Mining Outpost with no lag, no disconnects, et cetera.  Server ran smooth as glass even when we all started PvPing each other.  It actually ran better than an SOE server did.
