With this build I'm guessing a solid 50+ constant frames in multiplayer with all high settings. I didn't play crysis sp, so I'm comparing it with my pc and performance online.

I'll put more together, maybe.

The 9600's are the recently release mid-range.  Nothing too fancy.  I am waiting for the big boys to show up to see how they stack up against Crysis.

Same here. I hope they have something like the first 8800 GTS editions planned for the 9800 as well. That's what's next on my shopping list.

If you ever buy a Rosewill PSU, I will lose all respect for your hardware knowledge.

They are complete and utter shit. Enough said.

Why anyone would spend $600, $800, $1500, whatever, and then go and buy a shitty PSU that's going to either A) Kill itself B) Kill other components or C) Kill itself AND other components, makes absolutely no sense.

Other than that, it seems to be a pretty good rig. You are better off with an E6750 and a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L though.

My suggestions:

CPU: Core 2 Duo E6750
 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115029

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128059

RAM:
Crucial Ballistix 2x1GB DDR2 800
 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820146565

PSU: Corsair CMPSU-550VX
 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139004

Case: Cooler Master CM 690
 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119137

GPU:
(I'll keep the one you posted there) EVGA 9600GT
 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130328

Price: $704.94 (Before rebates)
Price After Rebates: $659.94

This is before shipping and handling, which shouldn't be too much more. You're still sitting well below $700 total.

I'm actually a little surprised how cheap that is in the end.

By the way, if you want to pick a good power supply, use this link as a guide:

Mobo: Asus P5K-E

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 4ghz w/ Apogee GTX (copper topped)

RAM: Crucial PC8500 @ 1066Mhz 4-4-4-8

PSU: Seasonic 550W

Case: SilverStone FP09

GPU: 8800GT 512MB @ 760/1900/1010 w/ MCW60

Cooling: Water

Cost: True cost unknown, but estimate $4000 including cooling gear.

This is a fast PC, but above 1280x1024 crysis brings it to its knees. Even with a Q6600 Quad core @ 3.6ghz (my old proc). It runs smoother on the dual core.

I just ordered a 9600GT myself.  It should be here today, so I was gonna give it nice test-drive my from my old X1900GT Cheesy

On most benchmarks, the 9600GT was actually getting similar (although still alittle lower) performance to the 8800GT, for about $50 cheaper.  On most resolutions it was getting like, 5-10 FPS slower than the 8800GT on average, but still decently above 30 FPS in Crysis at high settings.

Never buy a factory overclocked card, unless it comes with a nice bundle or something.

The most cost effective thing to do is to buy the cheapest, stock clocked version and overclock it yourself.

The only thing you need to watch for are the warranties. Not all companies like it when you overclock. EVGA is one company that WILL cover your card, no matter what you do in terms of overclocking. I'm fairly certain Sapphire is the same way.

My turn...

Intel Q6600 - $254.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115017

eVGA 780i SLI motherboard - $249.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188024

Kingston HyperX PC2 8500 4x1GB - $149
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134596

eVGA 9600 GT SSC - $199.99 ($209.99 - $10 Rebate)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130330

Total: $854.96 + Shipping

Should bet here on Wednesday.  Grin Sure hope my MGE 500W supply is adequate. Oh, BTW, Spartan, I disagree on the OC video thing. It's the same reason to only buy retail box CPU's. If you have any issues, you get to dump it in someone else's lap.

Not when the warranty already covers you for overclocking, hence why I recommend EVGA for Nvidia cards.

You can kill it yourself due to overclocking, they will cover it. For other manufacturers, you are correct however.

What make is your power supply? Model number?

Also, if you intend to overclock, don't open that RAM. It can be incredibly difficult to OC 4x1GB sticks no matter what the make or model. Most motherboards simply won't do it or are unstable. You are far better off buying 2x2GB sticks. Nvidia chipsets especially seem to have issues. Case in point: http://www.overclock.net/intel-motherboards/292253-780i-4x1gb-problems.html    This is just one of hundreds of similar threads that come up after a quick Google search.

My 2x2GB recommendation: Mushkin Redline DDR2 1000
 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820146755

These things are good, enough said.
