Hey Guys ... I know this is not a tech forum but IŽm as LOW as I can be ... why?

My Primary Drive freezed while rightclicking on a .jpg of a 3D model, shortly after the system rebooted by it self...
It did so but only until it reached the point were Windows (XP) actually takes over! then it automatically reboots, again (and again and again infinitum)! Why?

I took the secondary disk out and the system wouldŽn do much I slotted the secondary drive in again and the same senario happened again.

So my next step was to verify what had happened to the Primary Drive, so I installed it in a usb-case for HD on a portable-system, and the following ... [cold sweet runs down just to think of it] ... the system states that the disk (which kŽnow dos not have unique name but only the Windows name, i.e. before SEGATE###, now Local Drive. Further more the system sees the HD volume as 0-byte and it is in RAW formatting mode, originally it was in NFTS, in other words it thinks it is "clean".

Another note I would state here is tat when it rebooted the second and third time after I had removed the casing, the wires was somewhat electrifeid? Have my Primary Drive been given a mayor Electrical buttkicking?

Help wanted in directions or otherwisely!

Thanks for reading this!

The Brain: Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?
Pinky: I think so Brain, but if Jimmy cracked corn, and no one cares, why does he keep doing it?

Please descibe the "electrified wires" in detail.  Do they smell like buring, have burnt spots, or get extremely warm?  Also, are there any other physical problems such as a clicking noise, or no noise at all coming from the drive when it normally boots up?

It sounds like a critical boot file is missing, and not just a windows file, but perhaps an actual drive protocol, and it was caused by a short in the wires.

If that turns out to be true, you will need a new harddrive, and I doubt you'll ever recover any files from this one.   Huh
