I can only repeat my almost unconditional love for BF2 and 2142. If I was to design a multiplayer game from scratch, I'd be "taking a lot of inspirations" from these two.
The squad system, the commander function, the precise VoIP-system, the order system, the complementary class system... from BF2142 in addition for example the NetBat-system and so on.
DICE did an awesome job in creating and designing these games and their features.

Yes, they failed epically at product and community support, but the design of these two games is superior and unrivaled.

the way they implemented teamwork into the game design was pretty well handled, just wish they'd have finally started adding some depth to the vehicles, that titan battles weren't such a buggy pain, and that the art direction wasn't so incredibly bland.

Yes, BF2/2142 had some great game mechanics but overall the products were so hobbled by other shortcomings that I just could not play them for any length of time.

oh, but some of the game mechanics like AA and some of the medic stuff was really bad.  I did love the size of maps where I could pick people off from about 400m away with my sniper rifle, but then sometimes they'd just get revived again, even though they just took one to the face Tongue

That's why 1942 is forever the win.   Cool

well, being able to piece a guy's head back together after it got hit by a .50 cal, oh yea if that's not an art, idk what is.  Albeit a very bullshit art for the most part.

In many aspects, BF2 put entertaining gameplay over realism, that's why still an average of 12-15k people play it at any time of the day - more than 3 years after launch.
The gameplay experience when going with a good squad simply let you ignore all the shortcomings.
I know a lot of people including myself who'd pay a lot to experience something like that again.

I hope that that is exactly the feeling We will get when MWLL launches, pure fun gaming with the Squad/Commander element at itīs main focus, and securing the objectives thrue solid team work. BF2 is sadly one of the only FSPī I have played where that could be archived (even on unranked servers).

I like the squads deal, but I use teamspeak anyway, so it's no problem for me to coordinate movements in say CoD4 with my buddy.  I think it's fairly safe to say that he started at least one of the spec ops like strats in BF2, it was really fun playing it before people started to hack it on the servers that I enjoyed playing on, or they just followed me, idk, but it got bad.  But I really do enjoy squad based stuff, and that is something I really would like to do in this, so I can't wait to lead a point or lance of BA to ambush a mech and tear em down!

I think that some of the more popular ones are the Black Knight, the Daishi, Fafnir, and the Jager Mech. Also Wolf Hound, and some Draconis ones.

How about the Black Knight gets started first Grin

FYI: if I missed some, please say, but I was going by what ones were said the most in wants, so don't just say one to be included just because you want it in.

PS: I stopped playing since Punk Buster went wack. Can't get a full game. The only thing I can think of for why it could possible keep me as a high target is the fact that I would do sabotage, though how I did it was what should be considered legal. Like uncloaking where a hover tank will be having its rear facing me while its strafing, and quickly planting two C4's on its rear. With no speed hacks and such. Just calculating skill (mind you, that skill often failed me in such cases).
