While this isn't directly related I believe it does have bearing. One of the things I HATED about mechassult was that you couldn't run over vehicles and destroy them. You are a huge ware machine you should be able to destroy a little tank. In this MOD will a mech be able to destroy vehciles if its runs over them? Before you ask yes I agree you should sustain some damage like you do in MW4.

I think the cars should explode if they're stepped on. And lol at a little tank, I don't think they're little.

mechs are usually misrepresented as being that much bigger than tanks of smiliar tonnage, when they aren't. They are perfect kick height, but unless we're talking scout cars, i don't think they should be outright run over.

nope... note at all... then again, an Atlas going to punch an opponent is a last resort, and that oldie looks silly (still)!

Well, realistically mechs would not raise thier foot more than a meter off the ground, right? So stomping on vehicles is unrealistic. If you were running over people then they'd get knocked over and stomped by the foot. If you run into a car, like a bulldog it would get torn up bad enough to explode, and if you were to run into a tank, since it's lower to the ground and has comparable weight, odds are you would trip and fall. Of course I don't want mechs falling over very much because that takes the fun out of them. The problem is trying to make something unrealistic feel real and reasonable at the same time. The reason our military hasn't developed anything along the lines of giant humanoid robots is that there are too many limitations in real life to the fighting ability of such a vehicle. I never really understood just how many until trying to figure out how to make this feel "right" and still keep mechs as the kings of the battlefield.

i think it would be a great idea to incorporate a....... curb stomp system hahah jk
but yeah axmen and hachetman would boh be sick in this game and it would really help change the dynamics of gameplay
lets just hope it doesnt end up like the sword mech variation that ruined chromehounds

Was just talking about that with a friend of mine (who can't wait for MWLL either) when we played MW4 again after a long time. We both are missing the melee combat that you could read a lot about in the classic BT books. If possible we would love to see the feature of taking shot of arms and legs to use as clubs ... whats funnier than a mechwarrior going berserk and killing others with bare hands on the battlefield ;-) Don't overdo it tho - just some dents in the armor would suffice for me. Being able to take a whole mech apart in no time using melee would just turn the game into a close combat MechTekken ;-)

To my understanding, mech physical combat is a last resort action or something you do to finish off a crippled enemy.

I was a bit over dramatic there - had that picture in my head and make me laugh. Just being able to melee at all is something I will enjoy if I ever get that close to my enemy. Nice finishing move imho

You got it right; most mechs aren't designed for it, with the clear exceptions of ones with melee weapons such as the Hatchetman and Axeman. As for the others, while they -can- punch, it's usually not something that's promoted or even encouraged. With the Clans, they consider it to be extreme dishonor to engage a mech in melee combat. Conversely, that made the mechs like the Axeman very effective against the clans because it wasn't something they were used to fighting.

Just don't go too crazy! No spinning whirl kicks for Mechs. Though a foot stomp could be cool, if the other Mech limps afterwards. No chuck norris-tron?
