Has there been any discussion yet in regards to making a single player campaign for this mod?  I'm just curious because I believe that multiplayer should not be the end all be all of gaming.  Especially not this game which has a great deal of potential.  I do enjoy multiplayer gaming but will a single player campaign eventually be included?

P.S. I apologize if this has already been discussed already and I just missed the thread.

The topic occured a number of times in different contexts actually.
There will be no Single Player mode in the first release whatsoever unless we find someone able to take care of AI coding, which, according to our current coding staff, seems to be a quite challenging task.
As we do not have any plans for any SP mode at all, a campaign story hasn't been written either.
In other words: the chance of an SP game mode in the first release is little to nonexistent.

Unfortunately, with the way we're currently implementing mechs the crysis AI freaks out so it will need to be completely redone. We don't have the staff for that in the near future, definately not for the first release. Once we're out there, if there's enough interest, I know of at least a few programmers (including me) willing to try to take that one on though.

I'm not the authority, but I'm personally envision a game where you start off entering basic training and becoming a mech pilot or a tanker or whatever and following some form of a career during the course of the clans invasion, either from one side or the other. Of course single player is much easier to create with a small staff and a finite amount of time, which is why we're working on that first.

I can understand why you would want to take on multiplayer first.  I agree with your vision and I hope to see actually experience it someday.  I wish I could help but I really don't have any programming or modeling ability.  Just keep doing what your doing.  Remember if you build it they will come............

P.S. Of course the Crysis AI would freak out I'd freak out too if there was a 100 ton war machine chasing me.

Well, concerning campaigns I think the fanbase will provide lot's of stuff, as soon as MWLL supports Single Player and the necessary mapping assets to do it Wink
Alone to think about an immersive story driven campaign done in this wonderful mod let's me drool. Cheesy

I'd say get your current schedule done and then we'll all see where it ends. Many, many mods started little and became bigger over time, this is a proven and successful way of modding.
Thank you all for this Smiley

Anyone who wants to make maps for MWLL can already do so with the Crysis Sandbox Editor. There's a huge resource on www.Crymod.com and you can use the Softimage XSI Mod Tools (Free and also with tutorials available) to get started on making (or remaking) maps for MW:LL. I believe the Sandbox editor is available even with the demo so I don't think anyone has to purchase anything until you need Crysis for MW:LL!

That sounds like a bloody fantastic idea. Though the scope of gameplay required seems pretty daunting.

When you guys do get around to single player please don't do a sloppy job on it.  I hope to see a campaign that will take me more 5 hours to beat.  I wouldn't mind seeing a campaign that keeps growing and never ends.  Keeping adding new campaigns or make additions to current one.  I know I'm getting way ahead of myself here but that is what I would like to see happen.  Developer thoughts?

EA

You're forgetting the people who buy that stuff.
Also, I can hardly blame EA.
Multiplayer titles which require an original CD-key are by far less likely to get pirated, so why waste much time and money on SP games or even SP aspects of MP-able titles...

Developer thoughts?

You're planning too far ahead. We don't even know how long after release we'll be supporting this mod.

I wish I had some programming or modeling talent but alas I have none.  Without such skills I don't see how I could help.  My computer skills unfortunately are those of a PC technician.  Don't get me wrong I'm glad to have them but right now I wish I had a different skill set.

Sorry about that I like to look at the bigger picture and sometimes I look way to far ahead.
