Name: Tim Johnson

Age: 21

Position: Movie maker/writer for the Newsletter and other promotional publications.  I want to take the publication burden off of you developers so you can make your release date.

Past Projects: I've made form letters and promotional posts for events hosted by my gaming clan that were posted at other community and clan websites.  I also have an engineering job where I have to watch what I say (i.e. not promising clients fantastic returns when I can't back it up, etc.) so I have some discretion and think before I speak.  At work I also publish 100+ page reports, so I'm used to a substantial writing and editing process.  I tend to reread even my forum posts to make sure I'm being clear and well understood.

Samples: A movie I made a couple of years ago can be found here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7Z3-BEoeCc

Two clanmates challenged each other to a tank duel and asked me to ref.  I decided to make a video out of it for fun.  I made that movie after several hours because I taught myself how to use Windows Movie Maker at the same time.  Sorry for the choppy movement, BF doesn't have a very fluid free-look.

I do my own sound editing for my movies and you can hear an example here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIEZ9oV6npM

It's a soundtrack that my fraternity danced too in a competition.  It was made on short notice (the day of), and the second two songs are shortened substantially from their original versions by having whole sections removed and rearranged.  If you can find the splices, I'll be impressed.  Also, if you want a laugh, I can post the final video of us dancing.  I've made other videos, but they're of dog fighting (and make some of you motion sick, apparently  Cheesy) so I won't post them.  They show off the dogfights, not the editing, anyway.

I have basic photo editing skills, and an example is my forum signature.  It's not hard, but it is clean, clear, and pretty sleek and, I feel, adequate for the Newsletter and other promotional posts.  I used GIMP, not Photoshop, though it's very similar.

I don't have a recent non-technical writing sample, and the reports I generate at work are proprietary.  I could scrub one and post it if you really want it, but you will all fall asleep by page 5.  Even I don't like reading those reports.

Ties to Mechwarrior: I've played every major MechWarrior release since MW2 except for MechCommander 1.  I put down MW4 when I switched to BF1942 a few years ago, but I'm diving back into Mechs.  I'm happy that this mod takes the BF-style play, since it combines my two favorite things.

Other commitments: I'm an engineering student as well as having a job, so the school year is quite busy for me.  However, I only work 40 hours a week during the summer so my weeknights and weekends are free.

I'm also a top admin/moderator and lead the competition team for my BF1942 clan.  We have matches once a week but practice rarely since we play for fun.  I won't be leaving them, but I am trying my best to get them to play MW:LL so we can compete and possibly host a public server once the game is released.

I know this isn't a traditional position for you guys, but it's what I have to offer.  I hope you can find some use for me!

Almost 24 hours without a response.  I guess you guys aren't interested.  No worries, at least I tried.   Smiley

There's actually a few other problems, but I will get back to you after I got some stuff sorted. I definitely have some use for good photoshop skills and I suppose shared load for the next teaser-trailer would help a few people as well.
Just hold the line, devs are like love... they're not always on time Wink

If you have MSN, feel invited to add me so we can talk about this soon.

Hey there, i know you've been waiting what seems like days, but once one of the head guys can take a look they'll get around to talking with ya. ATM we're all pretty busy and have little time to review the forums daily. So, please be patient, give it a couple days and I'm sure someone will be with you shortly.

Thanks for the encouraging replies.  This is an open ended offer, so if you have a need for an extra hand, let me know!
