From Mektek forums:
"The game play vids look good, but I am very worried about the complete lack of walking mechs AGAIN in these vids. Maybe they are holding back what they have for a big splash latter. I hope that is it and there are no serious problems."
"The Feb newsletter walking could have been done by animations. It did not look like they have been able to get torso twisting, animating one direction all done yet."
"From what I've seen, people have no worries about walking mechs in this mod. I can't comment on the torso twisting though."
What is the problem with this two things:
walking mechs and torso twist
Im a bit worried about that

No need to.
Torso twising works well for quite some time already. I believe it's been shortly visible in the Christmas 07 teaser.
The walking will explicitely be shown off in one of the next few newsletters.

Lol, don't tell them that Mas, they'll think there is something actually wrong.
You actually have seen mechs walk in a teaser video I belive, but the main reason you haven't seen mechs walking in game is that we've been doing quite a lot of research and discussion, as well as functional testing of what the truly best way to implement the animations is. In all honesty, true programming of Mechs walking hadn't started until recently, as we the programmers had to teach our selves quite a lot to be able to implement them (everything from IK and animation blending to the physics and entity system of the engine).
All that said, you have nothing to worry about, as making mechs walk, and torsos twist is WELL within the capabilites of our team. Actually, that isn't the only major project we have, we also are working on custom weapon grouping, vehicle fire-mode switching (group, single, alpha), heat effects, game rules, and general awesome
. We've got a lot, but luckily I'm working with a great bunch of programmers that I really have confidence in (we have yet to be unable to complete a task, unless directly limited by the game engine itself).
The mektek forums can settle down, we are doing just fine (I really do wish sometimes you could hear our dev converstaions, they would really ease a lot of general fears).

No, your right, it would of course do both. The fears stated in this post are actually totally misplaced.

That's of course, assuming you can follow the conversation. (Hint people, when we talk about a big O of n it has nothing to do with women, unfortunately).
