I'd guess I would fall into the torn category.  While I do like the clan superior weaponry, I also am prone to building the best config and not caring what type of weaponry it includes.

EDIT:  This poll should probably be extended.

Inner Sphere, because we make babies the old fashioned way.

Seriously though, House Marik is the industrial avalanche that will enable the IS to push the clans out.  The only advantage the clans have is technology, and the longer the fighting goes, the more that edge vanishes.  The IS has numbers on their side; in the field, in the labs, in the factories, in the military think tanks.  The clans are doomed unless they start blowing up jump ships, and that's just not very honorable at all, now is it?

I like IS for their MacGyver style. The rugged, makeshift, Mad Max, slapped together just to work/function look. I like winning by any means. Then again, I also like the clan technology and moral code...which is why when I was in leagues I was a Merc as was my Unit after I'd been in houses and clans. A good mix of both IS and Clan philosophies, with a common distaste for them both defines the style I like in BT..

And, when did honor, or the lack thereof when it really comes down to it, stop the Clans?  Really, their honor is very fragile when one looks at all of their stories.  A lot of people argue that Clan honor is really the very pinnacle of honor, and I would agree that the design of it is fantastic.  Now, if the Clans would only actually stick to that code of honor, that would be great.

I'm speaking from a story-telling corner, here, not necessarily from the community at large, because in the stories, at least, the Clans attempt to stick to their honor until it's no longer convenient.  The community, at large, couldn't care less, in my experience.

Clan Wolf-In-Exile on Arc-Royal... clan alligience although they wrok for the IS agains the clans so i guess i should have voted torn.

NOTE: Clan honor applies until the opposition has violated it then all rules are off.

Oh, I understand that, about rules being violated.  However, when one group does not readily lay down what their rules look like for the other, then it becomes very easy to break those rules, quineg? ;P

I voted Clan, and I plan to play like Clan. Winning within the rules is what I find fun. If I'm defeated but stuck to the rules of my Clan, then even in defeat I can feel accomplished.

I'm sure I'll have an IS alt for when I feel like playing with different people, and getting a chance to ride around in some truly classic mechs like the Warhammer, Catapult, Thunderbolt, Marauder, and Atlas.

I've always been torn between the two, one part of me loves the militaristic viewpoint of the clans, but the other resonates more with their practical view on combat (the overall consensus of the uselessness of honor, glory, and other romanticized takes on war). Also, because of this philosophy, they WON the war. But again, the technical superiority of the clans is something I love. This is one of the reasons why I liked Phelan's clan wolf in exile.
