How are the missiles going to be launched in this game? I remember than in MW3 most missile launchers filed a single 'cloud' of missiles, as compared to MW2 where it was a sequential 'stream' of missiles. And about how fast will they travel? How well will they home in?

Also, I hope you make autocannons more useful than they were in MW4. I found that they did far too little damage for their weight.

Give the aerospace units that:

No need to fly within the range of anything but "LRM"s perhaps.  Grin

I know there are autocannons, minigun's and simmilar things in BT. But are there any weapons that are simmilar to the CIWS? Or even better, the GAU-8 Avenger?

I guess that the "Rotary AC"'s could be simmilar to the GAU-8. But the Rotary AC's weighs to much. They also, depending on which manufactory model it is, either have a much bigger caliber and/or have a slower rate of fire. And they don't seem to be as powerful as the Avenger, although that might just be the fact that the BT universe has a better armour.

Imagin a aerospace unit with a gatling weapon, that could do as much destruction on the BT battlefield, as a GAU-8 can do to today's battlefield! Shocked Swiss 'mech cheese! Cheesy

Some of the BattleTech AMS systems have been described as being similar to the CIWS used aboard naval ships.  The RACs are very much what the GAU-8 is, only on a larger scale.

The cluster bomb would become the spawn-campers weapon of choice.   Tongue

Aerospace fighters in CBT can conduct straffing runs which use an entire ton of ammunition, but hit everything in a long line along their path. This is exactly what the 50 ton Mechbuster fighter was designed to do. It has an AC/20 in the nose and only 1 ton of ammo. It carries a bunch of bombs and comes in on a straffing run along the rear of an enemy lance. It does one straffing run and empties all its ordnance, then flies back to base to rearm and refuel for another run.

Most 'mechs never forget being hit by that AC/20 in the back.

Yeah, our Xerxes has dual AC20's and if you can hold target and hit, whatever you were lined up on will notice.

I loved the Mechbuster, it was an aerospace fighter where there was no question what it was designed to do. The name, quite simply, said it all.

Christ. That will wax most small-medium mechs in a single blast if you get them in the back, I'd say they'd notice that!

Yeah, but of course the Xerxes itself is like a beacon in the sky. Hard to miss when it banks Wink.

Wasn't that the Xerces that took out the tank in the Puma video near the end?
