Here's a fun little audio project that I wrote and worked on with George Ledoux (the voice of Duncan Fisher) and SkyKing from MWL.  I hope you like it and find some encouragement in it.  Get it here:http://www.georgeledoux.com/oldsite/mp3/TheRemnant_HQMix.mp3

I'd like to thank the developers here at MechWarrior Living Legends for all the hard work you guys are putting into the mod.  You guys are helping to keep this game alive.  Hang in there guys!

Hah! Awesome.

We need to get George to say "Maxium Mod" and we'll put that in the intro Cheesy.

Hmm, that could work for the intro.  I think that it could work if you had it alternate between pairs of 'Mechs, battle armor, Vehicles, and Arospace fighters on a charred battlefield at first (possibly using old MW games for some of it), and then switch to a large battle centered on the pair of 'Mechs from earlier as the poem moves on to the part about their work being rewarded and new battles.  Then, it would cut to the same battle in an aftermath shot with only the pair of 'Mechs still standing as the poem hits "but...", and so on during the poem showing off some of the equipment in MWLL in a way appropriate to the poem, and ending with a warship over the MWLL logo planet which would then orbit around behind the planet as the rest of the MWLL logo came in.

Glad you guys liked it.  In case you are interested, the music is "O Fortuna" by Carl Orff, from Carmina Burana.  Here is a more permanent link for downloading:  http://www.mechwarriorleagues.com/download-files/shoutcasts/TheRemnant_HQMix.mp3

Here are the words:

The Remnant

My friend, we are The Remnant,
You, and I.
The last, the proud,
Refusing to say die.

The devs are long gone.
No word from above.
What of the future
Of the game that we love.

And so we dream…

…dream of new glories
Yet to be revealed.
We wait for new epics,
On new battlefields.

Will we lose faith?
Never yet.
We fight on,
With our gaze well set.

For one day we know,
Our work will be rewarded.
With a new game, new mechs,
Our dreams un-thwarted!

New servers will thrive!
Our foes multiplied!

But…

Until then?
We keep the faith…
Us, The Remnant,
The last to abate.

My friend we are The Remnant,
You, and I.
The last, the proud,
Refusing to say die.

nano, is it possible to get just the voice over sans music? I was thinking of tasking our composer to it if he feels up to  it..

great poem, but seriously, carmina burana o' fortuna?

thats the most overused overly melodramatic music track ever, if you go through youtube music videos and take a shot for every video using carmina burana, you'd drown, the only other most used songs are linkin park ones.
