Good gawds I had a nergasm seeing that they are making a 40K based shooter with awesome visuals.

Then I listened to the idiot narrator and his continued use of bullshit terms like "cinemation" and wanted to puke.  Really, a boltgun barely scratching a Chaos grunt infantry?  Seriously?

Oh, and fark minigames.

Yeah I think they will amp the bolter up a bit..I always pictured it as a giant nail gun  Tongue  With giant nails of course..
As far as I know the vid is from a very (first?) alpha build so theres a lot of things they need to do yet.

Imagine the MP though if they allow players to be other races (with special abilities and racial weapons.) Theres my nerdgasm right there..
And with the news that the tyranids are going to make it into DOW2 I think I'm going to have to start collectin gWH40k models again

More like a nailgun that fires nails with rockets on the back and explosive payloads in the front.  Cheesy  It was nagging me as to where I recognized the finishing move that was used against the Chaos grunts.  Then it hit me.  They stole it lock, stock, and barrel from the movie 300.

While MP might be fun I cannot see how well it will jive with their combo system.  Now, if they allow cooperative play...and you can have different weapons loadouts

Don't do it!  It's a trap!  Grin  Seriously, I cannot believe the cost of GW's models now.

Looks like it could be alot of fun. The only thing I'm not looking forward too is the constant "cinaction moments" as he called them. I don't need to see the different camera angles EVERY time I kill a guy. Or the over use of bullet time. Instead, let me control whether or not I want to watch it so I can focus on killing multiple guys at the same time and not just one Smiley.

On the up side, I really like their Art. I think they really captured the 40k universe well with very high quality. Then again, 40K is a very grungy universe and I wouldn't be surprised if they used UT3 which is the idea engine for Dirt and Grunge Cheesy.

Hehe...looks like a mod for Gears of War.  I would agree that "cineaction/cinemation/whatthefrackevah" needs to be selectable so I don't have to watch ripoffs of '300' all the time.

it still ties into the universe even if it is from 300 (and it's still badass). I would hope that they add some sort of customization in the mix, unlock new weapons and armor, yatta yatta.  I really really want a GOOD warhammer40k game that isn't an RTS.

You and me both, Cujo.  Hell, I remember the squad based FPS they previewed shortly before Quake came out.  It was old school sprites but you could have a wide variety of weapons and fought quite a few enemies, including the Nids.  Alas, Quake was released and everyone saw the sprite games were doomed so it was canceled.  I wish I could remember the issue of White Dwarf that had the  screenshots in it.

Nope.  It was regular Marines, not Terminators.  You were supposed to be able to have everything from chainswords to missile launchers.

Space Hulk was well before that era and was tense as hell.  Loved it.
