I'm talking out of my rear end here, but I'm fairly sure they're going to be around the same, with a mild increase if anything. There's a thread on it in the tech section i believe.
Right now I can actually move the detail higher with the same FPS as normal Crysis. Not sure if that will change over time.

Nope, a fair bit higher, unfortunately. My 88GT is around 20-30 fps and sometimes in the teens. There's alot more going in but also a bit of optimization left to do as well. One of the things we've been working on is moving things from the stack to the heap as much as possible because of the size of our maps.

Great to finally see a mech in action. Even if it is still a work in progress, it shows progress. Also it sure sparked some enthusiam from the members. Well done, and I'm looking forward t the next video.

I've noticed that changing my settings doesn't seem to affect low-FPS moments all that much, which means that there's still plenty to optimize map wise and I imagine code/LOD wise.

Sounds fine, I'm just glad my hardware can handle crysis at higher settings. I don't mind lowering them to get acceptable frames, the game looks great even on high or medium settings.

i have an xfx 8800gts xxx 320mb and i can run on very high with a custom config at about 30-40 fps on most of our maps. My q6600 and 6gb ram might have somthing to do with that though.

Yeah except the gtx 280 is way way too expensive for me to consider buying it right now. I'll purchase one when it's more economical to do so.
By the way, I threw on a custom config and I was absolutely shocked by how large an FPS gain I got. I think I must have went from something like 17 FPS average while playing on to over 30, and it looks far nicer than the settings I was using! (Vhigh.)

There is some really great configs out there actually! Even some ones that will mimic DX10 on DX9 cards. Notice too that the video we posted was all taken in dx9. DX10 looks a bit better but we really wanted to demonstrate that even with dx9 CryEngine2 looks fantastic.

I'm only running 2 GB of ram atm
all I thought I could afford for this build, gunna get 2 more for christmas). 8800GT OC and an AMD Phenom 9750, I think if I upgraded my RAM I'd be doing a bit better, I just got a zalman cooler for my VGA, it's amazing, full load, overclocked, low to mid 50 C is the highest I can push it. It used to idle high 60's to 70 C, 80+ at full load. I don't think I've found anything really to press my core very far, supcom only takes at very most 25% and that's with it's broken ai. I love building my own computer, it's so wicked fun.
congrats on getting a mech animation down, now hopefully it's a domino effect and the rest get easier and easier. Being an mech. eng. student, and (msotly) mech modeling hobbyist, I have a few qualms about your models, but you guys probably wouldn't want to go back and take a look at all your mechs. I'm more interested, as are you probably(once you get everything animated and textured), on gameplay.

Well, ok, let me put it this way... I run a 780i mobo, Q66, 4gb of 1066 ddr2, 1680x1050, OC'ed 88GT 512, high/custom config, no AA, Vista Ultimate x64 which I've stripped down some for performance with vLite. With this, I get around 30 fps, but it's not at all uncommon for me to drop to 9 on a busy playtest. With a light server load, I'm usually around 20-25 fps, and Fraps shaves off some as well when recording. My CPU usually hovers between 30 and 45% load during play, even when I get massive drops. By comparison, vanilla Crysis holds about 40fps even on a busy server with lots of stuff going on, and CPU load is usually maxing around 35%. Also MWLL is much happier with more RAM thanks to the large levels and all the goodies that go into our mod. With the DX11 SDK coming up in the next 6 months I'm waiting to see if I should hold off on a DX11 video card or just get 2 or 3 DX10 cards to SLI. Definitely don't care for the 280 though. It's a good card, but is more of a technology demonstrator than anything else. The next cards coming out based on the architecture will show huge leaps in performance.

Bang for buck 4870's are far superior to the GTX 260 and 280. If people are looking to upgrade specifically for MWLL i'd wait a few months and see what happens if the 280s drop, who knows.
