Basic description
Following the sketchy initial reports from the Battle of Luthien, high-ranking sources within the DCMS confirmed observations of a new class of Omni-Mech, code named Shadow Cat. This new chassis used mainly by Clan Smoke Jaguar show some amazing capabilities not seen by previous clan models. This new medium chassis has been known to reach speeds of up to 110 kph over open fields and even be stock fitted with Jump Jets.
The Shadow Cat’s primary weapon is an arm mounted Gauss rifle. Against light and medium Mechs that normally oppose such a machine, the Gauss rifle is a devastating weapon, capable of coring most light Mechs with a single shot. Even the heavy Mechs of the Com Guards on Tukayyid were staggered by the rain of magnetic shells made by lances of Shadow Cats.
Backing the Gauss Rifle is a pair of Extended Ranged Medium Lasers. As with most Clan weapons, these lasers demonstrate the increased range and accuracy when compared with Inner Sphere weapons. Though incapable of bringing down enemy Mechs with a single shot, these weapons work well as a secondary armament to the rifle.
Outline
The Shadow Cat is a very fast blitz krieg Mech that can utilized by the Player to quickly flank the enemy and lay a precise blow on the enemy’s back side with a single Gauss shot. Also equipped with Jump Jets capable of jumping up cliffs and on to the tops of buildings, this highly maneuverable Mech is highly approved by most Mechwarriors.
