Basic description
Taking a cue from the success of the Star Adder Blood Asp, Clan Diamond Shark set forth to create a Mech that would surpass the Blood Asp in agility and speed while still carrying two Gauss Rifles.
Though bearing a remarkable outward resemblance to the Timber Wolf, this new Battlemech is a new and more powerful creation. Carrying thirteen tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor, the Mad Cat MKII is an incredibly resilient design. More than that, it also has an extremely powerful 460 XL Engine to provide speed of up to 76 kph when equipped with MASC – an unheard of speed for Assault Mechs. Not only is it quick, but the MKII is also Jump capable.
Carrying a pair of Gauss Rifles supported by its torso-mounted LRM racks and quad Medium Lasers placed in the Nose, this Mech more than lives up the expectations of the Blood Asp. Its main drawback it limited ammo capacity for its LRM racks and Gauss Rifles and subsequently needs to return to base to rearm.
Outline
The Mad Cat MKII is one of the most expensive Mechs in the Clan armory, but well worth the cost. Players will find the Jump Capabilities on a Mech sporting two Gauss Rifles to be almost god like. Additional weaponry on the MKII adds that extra amount of fear to any who would be negligent to stray within range of its Lasers. Even though the jumping with two Gauss Rifles is a powerful feat, it lacks ammunition to stay as a significant threat on the battlefield.
