Basic description
The Kodiak is often referred to as the “Beast of Battle”. Known for its ferocious medium and short range and the ability to close the distance relatively face for an Assault Mech, it’s no wonder why this Mech is named after one of the most dangerous wild animals of Terra.
The design originated from the modifications on the now outdated Gladiator Mech and remade to support additional armor and Jump Jets. Over the years, the Kodiak has quickly gained a fearsome reputation in the short time it has been in service.
The typical loadout of the Kodiak includes a devastating Ultra-Auto Cannon 20 which occupies the entire right side of its torso. Opposite to the Auto Cannon is a pair of Streak SRM-6 Launchers. The Kodiak also holds four Extended Medium Lasers on each arm which complement its weapons load out. But the Ghost Bear Technicians weren’t done there. It was possible for them to retro-fit an addition Extended Range Large Laser in the Center Torso to max out the Kodiak’s offensive capabilities and still be able to function as a regular ‘Mech.
A unique feature that is only seen on the Kodiak is the sharpened Endo-Steel blades on either arm to symbolize claws. It has been reported that some Kodiak pilots use these claws to pierce through armor and use the medium lasers to melt away any interior components after being exposed.

Outline
With it’s hunched pose, snouted face and claws on either hand, and massive size, it’s no wonder why this Mech was named after the Kodiak Bear. Not only does it look mean, but it has the weaponry to strike fear in any MechWarrior’s heart. Desgined mostly for Medium to short range combat, the Kodiak is built to quickly close in on it’s target “maul” it to pieces. This Mech is best suited for Players that enjoy chasing their prey and then destroying them outright.
