Basic description
After the defeat at Tukayyid, Clan Nova Cat launched a new design of Mechs to bring into Clan ranks. The design was built to protect the Clan both militarily and spiritually. The design was christened Novacat, imbuing it with the spirit of the Clan.
To be one of the strongest weapon platforms for a heavy chassis, Nova Cat scientists reduced the Mech’s speed to free up pod space for weapon allocations, giving the Novacat its unique look.
The standard configuration has awesome long range firepower with 2 PPCs and 3 Large Lasers. Relying on energy weapons alone, the Novacat can operate away from supporting units for extended periods.
Of course a full firepower platform Mech has its limitations. With most space used up by weapons, the engine had to be downgraded in order to fit, and now the Novacat runs slower than most heavy chassis. Also being a pure energy weapon base Mech, the Novacat (regardless of its heat sink capability) suffers from heat problems. Most Novacat Mechwarriors say they spend about as much time shutdown from overheating as they do when shooting the enemy.

Outline
Being the most expensive Mech to purchase for the Clans, the Novacat is mostly piloted only by the most elite of Mechwarriors. An awesome powerhouse of weaponry, this 70 ton Mech cooks the enemy as much as it will cook the Player piloting it. Besides the overheating and slow speed, Players may look upon Novacats as the much needed firepower to break through any tough barrier in the way.
