Basic description
The Raven is House Liao’s experimental attempt to produce a ‘Mech that could provide a battalion or regiment with sophisticated electronic-warfare capabilities and communication equipment. The Raven’s primary role of the battlefield is to recon enemy convoys or fortifications while staying unnoticed to radar with its Electronic Counter Measure (ECM) Jammer. With salvaged Star League technology, the Raven’s sophisticated communications equipment can by-pass most signal jammers and radio interceptors in order to securely relay the enemy’s locations back to the pilot’s regiment.
On Strike missions, Raven’s are mounted with a TAG laser in order to co-ordinate bombing strikes against enemy targets of opportunity. Through aid of the communication equipment aboard, the Raven’s pilot can guide his Shilone Aero-space bombing partner to designated combat zone and then pin point enemy targets through his guiding TAG Laser. When targeting the location with his TAG laser, the Raven must remain completely stationary for 10 seconds in order for the bomber to setup his attack run and lock on to the attack coordinates. Once locked, the Raven retreats to a safe location while the Shilone will engage his attack run and launch his GBU-15 Laser Guided Bomb on the location. The whole process from lock until impact takes around 5-8 seconds, a total time of around 16 seconds.
In order to launch additional strikes, the Shilone must return to the nearest air field in order to re-fuel and re-arm and then fly back to the combat zone. A total wait time of 2-3 minutes.
In between strikes, the Raven isn’t without its own protection. Even though stealth is the key when piloting the Raven, Pilots have 2 Medium Lasers and an SRM-6 Launcher. Not the most effective means of anti vehicle, but enough to destroy any vehicles that are light and fast enough to catch up to the Raven’s speed.
Outline
The Player may be able to use the Raven as a recon ‘Mech for his team and be invisible to enemy radar. The Player may also be able to use his Tag laser that acts similar to artillery. He must target lock a location for 10 seconds and then a NPC driven Aero-space bomber will come down and bomb the target location. The play can then use the Raven’s speed to escape. If pursued, the player can use the Raven’s light armament to fight them off.
