Basic description
After salvaging a few of the Clan Omni-Mech designs, the House Kurita quickly made their own designs to counter Clans and their modular Mechs. Their first original design off the production line was christened the Owens. Unlike many Kurita Mech, whose names come from their appearance, the Owens takes its name from its primary mission: the traditional cavalry role of screening and reconnaissance.
The primary configuration uses 2 Medium Lasers for self-defense against light vehicles, while LRM Racks on the Mech’s arms offer suppressive fire. The Owens is seen more of a light blitzkrieg ’Mech– getting into position and the firing its LRMs at the target and then moving off again. It’s rarely seen in engaging and destroying the enemy directly but instead it uses its targeting and communications systems to assist heavier units in performing that task.
The Draconis Combine Military Service (DCMS) began deploying the Owens for every front-line regiment. It is rumored that the DCMS have at least one full lance of these versatile machines per regiment and as many as an entire company per Battalion.
Outline
The Player will be able to use the Owens as more of a hit and run fighter. He may use the LRMs for ranged combat in order to bring down larger targets that are far away. He may also use Siege mode for faster re-fire rate. Best described as ‘Mech wolves, 2-3 Owens are normally garrisoned in the same base since they are more efficient in packs.
