We're not half-assing this game and we're not going to release unfinished. buggy, glitchy, unstable software to the masses. When we feel we have a solid build packed and ready to go, you'll all be the first to know.

on behalf of those of us in the MW4 community who've spent years having to deal with Mektek, i thank you

Give 'em a break, man.  Do you want something good or do you want another MW4 piece of shit to play?

The dev team is busting their collective asses and it will be ready when it is ready and not a second sooner.

Deal with it already.

and get ready for an AoP lock...

Patients is a virtue.   I know many people are waiting for this to release.  I want this to release when they feel that the bugs/glitchs/coding is properly acceptable to their standards.  Wanting them to rush it could kill the project and cause the community to stop supporting it.  When it is ready they will Allow us to see their vision and hard work.

I agree, patience is a virtue, but we'd all like a live release month. Hell, even a season or financial quarter would work for us. I think part of the reasoning behind the lack of a public tentative release date is that the last time such a date was set, the mark was missed badly and the general public was left out to dry. The expectation for this mod should most certainly be when it's ready it's going to be released. However, that said, when it's ready is a horribly demoralizing phrase for the public to suffer especially given how near completion the mod looks to be. The hardest time to maintain patience is when it seems as if a release should be imminent. I'm pretty sure that's right now. Thus, the craze will continue whether the devs give a date or stick with the when it's ready policy - there's nothing that really can be done. The only benefit of a date is that people would stop asking for a release date.

Thank you, Defender, for at least posting some of the reasoning behind the when it's ready policy. It seems to me that there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than the public can tell. There's probably a lot of quality issues to iron out, and as Defender said, it is important to the dev team that the mod is of acceptable quality to them and leaves people with a good first impression. So while I'm excited with everyone else, I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see MW:LL til this Christmas season, a year after the supposed release date was set. Now I'll stop being an arse, this is something that these guys are giving us for free so I can't complain no matter the scenario.

Honestly, I can't believe people are still asking when it will be released.

I just gave up on wondering when.. which is why I don't post much anymore.

It will be done when it's done.

They will pick who they want for beta.  Most likely the people who posted the most.. or whatever.. Which is sad because I know my input would be better than 99% of the people here.  I just don't put the time into posting here anymore.

I hope they don't take people who have the longest posting history.  I am unemployed and have barely ANYthing to do.  I hunt for my jobs in the morning and in the afternoon do work on my house.  If they want someone to go through just about every inch of the maps/machines I would gladly do my best to get through it with set dates in mind.  Then again I just want to blast the heck outta stuff to.

The first Beta release is gonna be public, not closed. :|

in that case, just tell yourself Q4, 2009 and live with that.  if it's early you're stoked.  if not, well... you'll just have to wait :)

Still, it would be nice to know.

Can you give us a convoluted hint about when you are thinking about releasing it (preferably better than "2009")

Well ya know, every day longer that we wait for the release means that "coming 2009" is increasingly more precise.....   :P

Wonder if they're trying to compete with SC2's release...

Food for thought.

Imo they should bundle it with Duke Nukem Forever.
When will full game/demo/beta be released?
We're planning a beta release in the next *very* few weeks. At this time, we can't be more specific. Please stop asking.

No, I will not stop asking.

Well since the beta was delayed, I doubt SC2 is coming out in 2009. However, I hope to be proven wrong by Blizzard. :)
