The 3rd Person camera isn't really useful for tallish mechs, but for short stubby mechs and vehicles, its perfect. I honestly like the 3rd person view for vehicles.
If anything, it allows for some pretty screenshots.
Also, you can shoot while looking in rear view and side views, but you often hit your own mech. Perhaps with some coding effort, the view function could allow us the same "Look Left" and "Look Right" functionality that we had in MW3 and MW4. The code would have to be modified so that only weapons on the right arm would work while looking right, and vice versa. Not sure if you can do this in Crysis code, but it would go a long ways towards making mechs shoot like they did in MW3-MW4.
On a side note, pressing F1 in VTOL allows for a "Free Look" mode. You can aim your weapons in a limited arc in front of you. This makes locking or shooting 10x easier in VTOL, but its risky since you can't manuver and manual aim. This functionality is similar to real combat helicopters, as they have equipment that allows you to shoot where you look. It allows VTOLs to be used as actual gunships, rather than clumsy airships. I really hope the staff considers leaving the "Manual Aim" function on in VTOLS.
Conclusion: Leave mechs 1st person, but let us use 3rd person in vehicles and VTOL. Please.
