1. Microsoft gives MWLL the go-ahead
|
Through MANY
correspondence and phone conversations with the licensing and legal
department over at Microsoft corporations legal and corporate affairs
offices we have finally been given the "go ahead" for this project!
Here is what the top notch people over at Microsoft had to say in our
non-commercial license.
"Microsoft grants MechWarrior: Living Legends
a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use and display
Game Content and to create derivative works based upon Game Content
included in the "MechWarrior" Intellectual Property, strictly for
noncommercial and personal use. We can revoke this limited use license
at any time and for any reason.
If you share your Items with your friends or post them on your web
site, then you also must include the following notice about the Game
Content. You can put it in a README file, or on the web page from
where it’s downloaded, or anywhere else that makes sense so long as
anyone who sees your Item will also find this notice.
MechWarrior: Living Legends was created under Microsoft’s “Game
Content Usage Rules” using assets from the MechWarrior Intellectual
Property, © Microsoft Corporation.
If you wish at any time to market your title please contact us for a
commercial license.
Legal & Corporate Affairs

We'd Like to thank Microsoft for their
continued support as well as their ongoing support of the Battletech
and MechWarrior universe!

5. Meet the Devs
|
In this months edition we would like to
introduce Stlava.
Hey
guys, my name is Slava Markeyev aka Stlava and my official title here
at MWLL is Web Developer. First and foremost I would like to say while
I am not a modeler, texture artist or animator I belong to a small
group of people here at MWLL that support the mod in many ways such as
web development, site administration, legal advice and many other
fields. I joined the team seven months ago in February when I started
development on what is known as our current website. Today on a daily
basis I make sure the website components are functioning and are up to
date as well. Besides maintaining the back end of the website I try to
find way to support the development team. For example my in latest
project I am attempting to setup a distributive rendering farm so the
beautiful monthly renders that you guys see don't take one machine in
the upwards of five hours to complete.
Outside of MWLL, like many of the developers, I am a gamer. My first
game was Counter-Strike 1.5 from there I transitioned to Battlefield
1942, Counter-Strike Source, Battlefield 2 and most recently ET:Quake
Wars. For the last two years I have been apart of the gaming team
named The United Force, where I competed in various leagues. I'm
looking forward to play ET:QW with my team in the near future. Beyond
the Internet I am a full time high school student and very soon a
college applicant.

As always, we appreciate your
feedback to our models, to the concept art, the work in progress, this
newsletter and any other input you want to give.
Should you now feel motivated to contribute to this mod, head over to
our website and introduce yourself on the forums.
Best wishes,
From the team of
MechWarrior: Living Legends
